2.3 Information Collected by Google Mobile Ads SDK:
Our app uses Google Mobile Ads SDK to display advertisements to free users. The Google Mobile Ads SDK automatically collects the following data:

This data is collected automatically by Google Mobile Ads SDK and is used for:
- Delivering and personalizing advertisements
- Measuring ad performance and effectiveness
- Fraud prevention and security
- Analytics and reporting
You can control ad personalization through your device settings. On Android, you can reset or disable your Advertising ID in your device settings. Ads shown to Pro users are automatically disabled.
2.4 Information from Third-Party Services:
- API.Bible: When using certain Bible versions (e.g., NIV), we may make API calls to API.Bible service. This may involve transmitting your IP address and device information to API.Bible for service delivery. Please review API.Bible's privacy policy for their data practices.
- Firebase Services: Firebase may collect device information, usage data, and crash reports as part of their service provision.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data only when we have a valid legal basis to do so under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent UK and Swiss laws. Depending on the activity, our legal bases are:
- Consent: Where you have given us consent — for example, to show personalized advertising, or to send you optional notifications. You may withdraw your consent at any time (see Section 5 and Section 9).
- Performance of a contract: To provide the app and the features you request, including account management, syncing your reading data, and processing Pro subscriptions.
- Legitimate interests: To operate, secure, and improve the app, prevent fraud, and serve non-personalized (contextual) advertising, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation: To comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests.
5. Consent for Personalized Advertising (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
For free users located in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, we use a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP), built on Google's User Messaging Platform, to obtain your consent before any personalized advertising is shown. When you first use the app in these regions, you are presented with a consent message that lets you accept or decline the use of your data for personalized ads, and to manage your detailed ad-partner choices.
- If you consent, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may use your data (as described in Section 2.3) to deliver and measure personalized advertising.
- If you decline, you will still see advertising, but it will be non-personalized (contextual) and will not rely on your consent to use personal data for ad personalization.
- You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from within the app using the "Privacy options" / "Manage consent" control, which re-opens the consent message. You can also reset or limit your Android Advertising ID in your device settings.
Pro (paid) users do not see advertisements, and the advertising consent flow does not apply to them.
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the app, and only as needed to provide their services:
- Google (Firebase, Google Mobile Ads, Google Sign-In) — authentication, hosting, analytics, crash reporting, and advertising.
- Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store) — authentication and purchase processing on iOS.
- API.Bible — delivery of certain licensed Bible versions.
- Legal and safety — where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app and its features. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Data stored locally on your device remains until you delete the app or clear its data.
8. International Data Transfers
We and our service providers may process and store your information in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms to protect your information.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal data. Users in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland have the following rights under the GDPR and equivalent laws:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Portability: Receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Restriction and objection: Restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent: Withdraw any consent you have given at any time, including consent for personalized advertising, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
- Lodge a complaint: Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland) if you believe your rights have been violated.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13. We will respond in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
10. Children's Privacy
Daily Bible App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information.
11. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted storage of sensitive data on your device and secure transmission to our service providers. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the app. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
